LFC Legends game with Barcelona postponed

Liverpool FC Foundation and FC Barcelona can confirm that their charity match on Saturday March 28, 2020 at Anfield has been postponed following the outbreak of the coronavirus. Barça Legends are unable to travel to the UK at this time.
Ticket and bookings already purchased for this game can still be used for the rescheduled date, which will be announced in due course.

All of the proceeds raised from this match will go to the LFC Foundation, which brings together the LFC family to create life-changing opportunities for children and young people.
Matt Parish, LFC Foundation director, said: “We would like to thank all those supporters who have purchased tickets for their understanding in this matter.
“Please hold on to your ticket and we look forward to seeing you at the game when we can rearrange it.
“Thanks to your generosity and continued support of the Foundation, these charitable games make a huge difference to the work we do and help us impact even more people.
“Through our community fund, £100,000 will be made available to local charities and community groups. In addition, funds also raised will be used to fund our partnership with Right To Play, which brings together two leaders in the fields of sport and play to benefit vulnerable children both at home and around the world, as well as enabling us to directly support even more children and young people across the Liverpool City Region through our own delivery.”

Atletico Madrid stun Liverpool in extra-time to send holders crashing out of Champions League

Atletico Madrid pulled off a stunning extra-time comeback to beat Liverpool 3-2 (4-2 agg) and dump the holders out of the Champions League. Three goals in extra-time sent the Spanish club through to the quarter-finals after the Reds dominated for the whole night and briefly went ahead in the tie. Having entered the clash 1-0 down, a dominant Liverpool got the goal they needed through Georginio Wijnaldum and should’ve ended things in normal time. Roberto Firmino finally put the Reds in front early into extra-time, before absolute chaos ensued at Anfield. A howler from Adrian gifted the visitors a priceless away goal through Marcos Llorente, and they were in dreamland when the substitute struck again before on 105 minutes. With Liverpool chasing an unlikely two goals, Alvaro Morata, another substitute, ran up the other end and completed an extraordinary turn of events in the dying moments. Adrián's error a reminder of the Champions League's fine margins, and why champions need a world-class keeper

It was a tale of the two keepers: Jan Oblak excelling; Football is rough, man. It took Heisenberg purity levels of Simeone-ing to flip the script on Wednesday night. And more than a touch of luck. 2-0 up. Anfield bouncing. Liverpool had finally broken through Diego Simeone's impenetrable wall to burst their way into the next round of the Champions League. Or so we thought. An Adrian error and he-should-have-done-better-with-that-shot later and it was 2-2, Atléti adding a third in added time to win the second-leg outright. Liverpool dumped from the competition and on their way to a plodding conclusion to the season -- if there's a season left at all. Gutwrenching. It was a cruel reminder of what makes the Champions League so great and so difficult to win. A nick here, an error there and you're bounced quicker than Michael Owen from a loyalty conference. That Llorente was the guy to essentially end this magical season is utter madness. Llorente had six senior-team goals  in h...
